Dave Carroll (SOM) w/ Brian Gordon (5/21/10)

We were proud to host Dave Carroll (Sons of Maxwell) at our house concert series.

We packed the house, stuffed ourselves with food, and sat back to enjoy a great evening of fantastic music brought to us by Brian and Dave.

Dave had us laughing as he regalled us with his stories, and got us all singing along to his United Breaks Guitars songs which he performed over the course of the evening.

Definitely a fun evening all around!

John Mann w/ Brian Gordon (5/1/10)

Once again John Mann offered an unparallelled experience to his performance.

It is difficult to describe Mister Mann's performance in any way that does justice - you simply have to experience it for yourself.

With humourous tongue in cheek stories, and straight to the point lyrics, John paints an honest picture of humanity in all it's dirt and all its glory.

While at first listen you might only pick up on the harsh reality and the ugly side of life, he actually paints a portrait of love in even the worst part of society, of hope even in the darkest places of life.

John has the ability to laugh not only at himself, but also how ridiculous we all can be.

But what brings this particular performs into even sharper contrast to when we hosted him previously, were his newest songs and stories that portray his battle with cancer over this last year, and all the ups and downs of that struggle.

He made us laugh... yes laugh... with his candid telling of life in the hospital as a cancer patient.

And he made us cry over the strength and beauty of love and friendship that carried him through that dark time.

And he made us appreciate our own life and fortune just a little more.

Chris Trapper w/ Brian Gordon (4/29/10)

Chris Trapper performed his first headlining venue show in Toronto to a full (and very appreciative) house at The Supermarket! He was in the top of his game with great stories, lots of laughter and of course his ever fantastic songwriting and performance!

Definitely need to bring him back to Toronto for a future performance.

Chris Trapper w/ Brian Gordon (4/28/10)

Chris Trapper & Brian Gordon's debut performance in Ottawa showcased some of the best of their songwriting. It was a small and intimate crowd, as we were competing with the final Montreal Canadiens game, but even a great hockey game can't beat great music, and great music was definitely on at the Elmdale!

John Mann (SoTW) w/ Ian Reid (8/23/09)

At a folk club in Hamilton, Ontario, Brian Gordon ran into a singer/songwriter who stood out among the room filled of "open mic" performers.  Ian Reid, from Rockwood Ontario sounded not only unique, but humble and authentic.  Resonance was proud to have Ian Reid (and his harmonica) come and perform at our series.  www.myspace.com/ianreidsongs

John Mann (Spirit of The West) performed two sets of incredibly honest and challenging songs.  One of Canada's greatest songwriters, the sold-out room was hooked on every line, and no one left disappointed.  Performing songs from his solo release "Mister Mann" as well as some favourite Spirit of The West songs, fans definately got a glimpse into the spirit of this man... www.mistermann.ca

Chris Trapper w/ Brian Gordon (5/22/09)

Our second presentation of 2009 was with an exceptional singer/songwriter, Chris Trapper.  Chris was nominated for a Grammy in 2009 for the song "This Time", which was the main love theme for the blockbuster hit "August Rush" starring Freddie Highmore, Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Terrence Howard, and Robin Williams.  Chris performed songs from several of his albums, and made a living room full of listeners into new fans.  An incredible night.  More at www.christrapper.com

Brian Gordon opened the night with songs from his 2008 release "Everywhere's The Sun", as well as debuting some new material.  For many, this was the first time hearing his material, which complimented Trapper's set perfectly.  You don't have to go far to find more on Brian Gordon... www.briangordonmusic.com

Chris Trapper (artist)  "Last night has gone down as one of my favorite house concerts ever.  Most of that has to do with how gracious and cool you and Brian are."
Ronnie (guest)  "I just have to say... THANK YOU!  It was a blast and you were SO incredibly hospitable... we've been talking about it non-stop for the entire weekend!  I'm excited to come by for more concerts... and am excited to find out who the next guest is!"
Gabriel (guest)  "Hi Jennifer, Wanted to thank you and Brian for hosting Chris Trapper!  It was a great night... probably the best live show I've seen in years!  I'm looking forward to seeing what other house concerts you might have planned for the future."
Kim (guest)  "Thanks for a great time last night, Jen!  Truly had a blast - well done.  And those Trapper and Gordon dudes were pretty good! LOL! Thanks again!"
Sheila (guest)  "Thanks for the hospitality... we were getting to be the guests that never leave!  A grand time, indeed! Til the next one..."
Estelle (guest)
"Thanks again for having the Chris Trapper show at your house.  It was Amazing!"

Brian MacMillan w/ Jessy Bell Smith (4/26/09)

Our first Resonance Live Music Series presentation was an incredible night, featuring Brian MacMillan (Thinbuckle) with percussionist Dave Tolley, and the unique and quirky stylings of singer/songwriter Jessy Bell Smith.

Jessy Bell Smith opened the night with a memorable set of songs that left the audience both laughing, and thinking.  There is something wonderfully "one-of-a-kind" about Jessy, and we were honored to have her as our first Resonance performer ever!  More on Jessy Bell Smith can be found at www.myspace.com/jessybellsmith.

Brian MacMillan and Dave Tolley provided an evening of music that was talked about for months to come.  If you haven't heard any of Brian's material, it was like we had James Taylor in our living room, with this subtle yet distinct island groove... and Dave's Cajun box completed the mix.  www.brianmacmillanmusic.com
